Belated Fathers Day Post

Having Fathers Day last Sunday has gotten me thinking a little bit about the men who have helped to shape who I am as a woman, and a mother. I apologize in advance for the sappiness, I guess I am just feeling nostalgic. The picture in the center is my Grandpa, Billy Vaughn Marshall, and Grandma, Yvonne Kay Marshall. Notice the Vaughn and Yvonne, so cute right? He was a total stud. He was a geologist, and would work for months at a time on the ice islands up north. It was really lonely work, but it was what my Grandpa loved. I remember being a young girl, and we would go on family vacations. My Grandpa would take us to caves and lava beds, and then he would teach about all of the rocks there, how they were formed, and whatnot. He was brilliant, I loved that about him, and that could be where I developed my love of scientists, seeing that I married one. Then there is the picture of my Dad, and Mom of course, on their wedding day I realized when I posted this that I really don't have that many pictures of my Dad. Sad. Anyway, my Dad has faced alot of really tough obstacles the last couple of years, but he has always been a good example to me of faith. I really admire him for that. Last comes my husband, but only chronologically. He is so wonderful, and supportive, especially when I am in school, and he is in town. I love that he can always make me laugh (unless I am REALLY mad at him, but that never happens. . . hahaha moving on). He is wonderful at his job, and (just like my Grandpa was) he's great to have on vacations. He is such a great Daddy, even though he hasn't gotten his boy yet. I love him for all these things and more. (I know SAPPY) Happy Fathers Day, to the memorable men in my life.
