Bad Mommy

So lately I have been in a mommy-ing rut, I thinkall parents get there, it is the phase where you start going through the motions when parenting to reduce expending any extra energy. Well, yeah I'v been in that mode for a while now, and I recently realized that was actually creating more problem for myself due to my bad mommy-ing. So I have made some new rules for myself and my family, and they are partially inspired by the "Family; isn't it about. . . time?" commercials. So here they are.
- Every time my kids ask for something I am going to stop whaever it is that I am doing and look at them, even if the answer is going to be no.
- I now have a set aside time to spend with each child each day, a time that I have to spend only with that child. (Thanks for the idea mom) We call it their "special time", I play a game or read a story, or do something that is only for them. Oh and this is a time completely free of any negativity, to which I am unfortunately prone to.
- Only one hour of tv time for them, it's amazing what a nice babysitter the tv makes, unfortunately I have these deep-seeded naggings that it's by-the-hour charges may toll heavier than those of a traditional babysitter in the long run.
- Parent tv time doesn't start until after my kids go to bed.
Sorry for the boring post, I don't have anyting else to write about.
