Happy Memorial Day

For memorial day a few freinds from our ward invited us to do a hike with them. We originally wanted to do the Narrows, but that was closed, so we opted for one called "the Subway" instead. It was truly spectacular. Unfortunately, my photographic talents are extremely lacking, and our camera was stowed in a dry bag for the most breathtaking parts of the journey. So I have here only one. We started our hike at 9:30'ish, after having a hugemungus breakfast, and it promptly started raining, only lightly though. After it stopped raining, it was sunny for a time, then it began to snow. The only part that was a little uncomfortable was when we had to go in the water. There are several pools that require wading through, and they were extremely cold. Luckily we had rented these ultra stylish dry suits (be sure to note my sarcasm on that). They sort of ballooned up when we entered the water and I felt more like a piece of driftwood than a hiker. Let me tell you, driftwood was not designed for swimming. This was the first really intense hike that I've ever been on and I loved it. I look forward to doing more.
